Redefining Connection in Non-Monogamy

Love outside the traditional mold can be beautiful, but complex. In this conversation, Expansive Therapy co-founders Nick Fager and Megan Murphy dive into the concept of compersion (the joy felt when a partner shares intimacy with someone else) and the unrealistic expectations that sometimes surround it.

Polyamory therapy reflects this same nuanced understanding, offering a safe, affirming space to explore communication, boundaries, and connection in a way that supports every person in the relationship.

Why Clients Choose Expansive Therapy in Los Angeles for Polyamory Therapy

Clients in polyamorous, ethically non-monogamous, or nontraditional relationships often say the same thing: “I didn’t want to spend therapy explaining how my relationships work.” At Expansive Therapy, you won’t have to.

Our team is trained in affirming and understanding the nuances of polyamory, from navigating jealousy to building secure attachment across multiple connections. Clients choose us because we don’t pathologize your relationship model. Instead, we help you explore what’s working, what’s hurting, and what you want to grow toward.

"Best therapist i have ever worked with. Going back after delivering my first child. (The staff at Expansive Therapy are also very helpful and kind)"
