Internship Program Highlights

Commitment:

Combined practicum and internship—students must participate for the entire duration.

3-6 graduate students for a close-knit, supportive learning experience.

Hybrid Model:

Gain experience in both virtual and in-person counseling environments, with a weekly in-office requirement.

The 2 Part program

Clinical Training

Your journey begins with an immersive, multi-day orientation to prepare you for clinical work. You’ll be matched with clients (no need to source them yourself!) and start building your caseload.

Interns will mainly see individual adult clients (ages 18+). For those who are interested, there is the possibility of seeing couples and co-facilitating groups.

Interns are expected to maintain a minimum of 10 client hours per week to develop robust clinical expertise. On average, interns dedicate 15-20 hours per week to their internship experience.

Key elements of your year-long clinical training include:

Conducting psychotherapy, intake assessments, and treatment planning.

Completing clinical documentation.

Participating in practice-wide training.

Producing queer mental health content to educate and inform the public.

Supervision and Mentorship

Our supervision is intentionally Socratic, fostering dialogue and exploration to help you develop confidence in your unique counseling style. Individual supervisors will also share their expertise while encouraging peer-to-peer learning through case discussions and shared resources.

Our program offers 3.5 hours of supervision a week.
