What is your approach to therapy?
All of our therapists have slightly different approaches to therapy which can be found in their bios on our team pages. However, our practice as a whole has a very relational, emotion focused style of therapy that is trauma informed.
Can you write me a letter for an emotional support animal?
We are unable to offer this service at this time unless you have an established relationship with your therapist and they deem it clinically appropriate.
Can you write me a referral letter for gender affirming services?
Expansive Therapy has proudly served hundreds of Trans and Gender Non-Conforming clients throughout the years. Part of our service is our ability to refer interested clients for medical services like surgery or hormones to affirm their gender. If you are seeking these services, you are welcome to discuss this with your therapist. WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) describes the responsibility of the referring provider as equal to that of the provider who conducts the actual procedure(s). With this in mind, your therapist will work with you in sessions until they feel clinically confident in providing the referral. Every individual's situation is different, so there is no set timeline for receiving a referral letter.
Can you also help me with medication management?
No, as we do not have any psychiatrists on staff. Feel free to ask us for a referral!
