Q: What if I don’t see the specialty I’m looking for?

Even if the exact specialty isn’t listed, we may still be able to help. Reach out to us, and we’ll connect you with a therapist who can support your needs or refer you to trusted providers.

Q: Can I switch specialties or therapists if my needs change?

Yes. Therapy is a flexible process, and you’re not locked into one specialty or provider. If your needs evolve, we’ll work with you to adjust your care and ensure you feel supported.

Q: Do you accept insurance?

We accept most insurance plans that offer out of network benefits. Our office manager will check your out of network benefits and provide a custom quote. We are only able to submit claims to primary plans.

Q: Do you offer therapy outside NYC and LA?

Yes, we can offer online therapy services in the greater New York State and California areas.

Meet Expansive Therapy

Founded in 2017, Expansive Therapy was created to make mental health care more LGBTQ+ affirming, relational, and accessible. Our Los Angeles team believes therapy should be a space where every individual feels supported, empowered, and free to grow. Our New York City office is centrally located in Manhattan near Penn Station, making it convenient to reach from across the city. With extended therapist availability seven days a week, you can find support that fits your schedule whether you’re seeking in-person or online care.

We founded Expansive Therapy with two missions. One was to provide truly affirming, high quality therapy to the LGBTQ+ population. The other was to solve the logistical problems that keep so many people from starting or staying in therapy. We wanted to take care of the burdensome details of the therapy process so that our clients could focus on the therapy itself.
